EXCHANGE POLICY
Below, please find the details of our exchange policy. We have tried to make these policies as fair and flexible as possible, yet still ensure we have a suitable markup to cover overhead and be able to keep the parts you need in stock for the next time you call.
Simple Guidelines
1. Please return cores within 10 days, unless previously arranged, so we can get them to the Overhaul Vendors and back on the shelf for the next customer.
2. If a core is not received within 30 days, an invoice will be generated for the difference between the exchange and the outright prices. This is the "core charge".
3. If your core is not the exact part number as the item you are ordering please verify with the sales agent if it is an acceptable core and what, if any, supplemental charges would be assessed for supplying that part number core. Please verify this prior to ordering the part.
Beyond Normal Repair Cores
If the repair cost of a component exceeds 90% of the exchange price, we consider the repair cost excessive.
In this case the customer would be billed the actual cost of repair plus 10%. Any exchange fees already billed would be credited towards this new invoice.
An example would be a Starter with an exchange price of $1000 and an outright price of $3000. If the overhaul estimate was $2000, the customer would be invoiced the $2000 plus 10% ($200) for a total of $2200. Since the $2200 is less than the outright price of $3000, the part is not considered scrap or B.E.R. and they would be credited for the $1000 exchange fee already paid, and receive a supplemental bill for $1200 ($2200-$1000 = $1200)
In all cases, the customer will be provided with a copy of the vendors repair estimate for his component.
Scrap/B.E.R. Cores
A part is considered scrap or beyond economical repair (B.E.R.) if the price of repair exceeds 90% of the Outright price for that component. If we cannot find another component to replace a B.E.R. part for our rotable pool, with the customer's approval, we may elect to repair a component whose repair cost is more than the outright purchase price, but the customer will only pay the previously quoted outright price.
The normal practice is the customer would be charged for the outright price of the part if that part is scrap or B.E.R. and their B.E.R. part would be returned to them. Any exchange fees the customer has already paid or been billed would be subtracted from the outright price.
If a customer feels our outright price is excessive, they may elect to replace a scrap part with an identical overhauled unit under the following terms:
1. In addition to supplying the overhauled component, they will be charged 10% of the exchange price for the use of our part. This amount can be deducted from any refunds due them for money already received.
2. They must also pay any teardown/evaluation fees the vendor charges us. A copy of the vendor invoice will be provided.
3. They must supply the replacement component within 15 days of being notified that their core is scrap/B.E.R.
4. The Overhaul Vendor and date of overhaul must be acceptable to DK Turbines. The customer should get approval prior to purchasing a replacement component to avoid any disappointment or misunderstanding.
